St. Vincent's and Massachusetts General Hospital Fight to the Bitter End
Eight teams, representing the best and the brightest fellows in the Massachusetts cardiology community competed in the Mass Chapter Jeopardy competition in Boston. Teams of (3) from University of Massachusetts, Boston University, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, Baystate Medical Center, Tufts Medical Center, Brigham & Women's Hospital, and St. Vincent's spent and evening of comradery as they competed for the chance to represent Massachusetts in the National ACC Fellows Jeopardy Competition at the 2019 ACC Annual Scientific Session in March in New Orleans. Program Chair Nino Mihatov, assisted by co-chairs Emily Lau and Samuel Bernard, organized and operated the game and questions ran the gamut from The Widow Maker to Cardio-Radiology. Moderators Ami Bhatt and Duane Pinto, kept the questions and answers rolling and audience participation was frequent throughout the night.
Esteemed judges Pat O'Gara, Doug Drachman, and Gordan Huggins, were called upon many times to provide guidance, judgement on responses, and general education for both the teams and spectators. All teams performed admirably and the competition was fierce right up to the Final Round. Massachusetts General Hospital and St. Vincent's were tied at $1,400 as they headed in the final category - The Forgotten Valve! St. Vincentís emerged victorious with the correct answer and will represent the Chapter in New Orleans.
We encourage all chapter members to attend the ACC Annual Scientific Session and to attend the Fellows Jeopardy Competition to cheer on the team!
